About Golf Challenge

The PROFAN SPORTS Golf Challenge is a national competition and a campaign to raise funds for junior golf programs. It’s also a marketing opportunity for local companies. Review our FAQs below.


It’s a player challenge! How many teams will we have? How many cities and sponsors will we have? How many children will we help? Register a team and help recruit other teams in your city. Get your local golf club involved and help secure sponsors.

The PROFAN SPORTS Golf Challenge is FREE and all you do is register your team and post your scores. Every week you will see where your team ranks in your City, State, and National Championship. It’s a national golf challenge.

Sponsors and Donations

It’s a Sponsor Challenge! Sponsor pledges for City, State, and National tournaments are based on projected revenue generated throughout the tournament season. Sponsors must register a Team and select a local junior golf program to support. Sponsors donate 100% of their sponsor pledge to the  junior golf organizations selected by tournament Champions. Donations are made and awards presented in September 2022. The stories, photos, and videos will be featured on the tournament pages and social media. 

Player Awards

Tournament Champions win awards listed on the City, State, and National tournament pages. Award sponsors are accepted throughout the tournament season. Awards can be golf equipment, golf vacations, and other products/services. It’s a national Golf Challenge. How many teams will we have and how many sponsors? How many futures will we change?  The more teams we have the more sponsors and donations.

Teams and Matches

  • How many players are on a team and how many matches do they play?

    • All teams have 4 players and each team must play 6 matches between May 1 and August 1, 2022.

  • How do teams schedule and play their match.

    • Teams agree to a match and exchange two players. Each foursome logs in and schedules a their own match. Using their GHIN handicap, each foursome agrees on what “strokes” each player gets on each hole.

    • Teams receive one point for each hole they win. The Team with the most points wins the match and an additional 2 points. When both foursomes have posted the same scores the leaderboards will be updated.

    • Players can be men or women 18 years or older.  

    • Teams cannot play the same opponent twice.

  • How do I identify Teams looking for a match?

    • Your city leaderboard will list participating teams.

    • Click on their name and visit their profile. It will also provide player handicaps.

    • The profile will tell you what matches they have played and their score.

    • Contact their Captain and work out the details.

    • When both foursomes post their scores, it will be listed on the city, state, and national leaderboards by total points scored.

  • When can Teams start registering for the 2021 season?

    • Registration starts March 1, 2022.

    • The more Teams we have the more Sponsors and Donations we will have.

  • What information is required to register a team?

    • Team Captain name and contact information

    • Team name, the club they represent, player names, their current handicap and GHIN number.  

Points and Posting

  • How does each player and team score points?

    • Two players from two different teams compete in each match. 

    • Using their GHIN handicap, each team gets 1 point for each hole they win. The Team with the most points wins the match and an additional 2 points.   

    • Both teams keep score including the number of putts, eagles, birdies, and pars.

    • At the end of the match both teams agree on all scores.

    • Each team posts all four player scores on their team profile.

    • When both foursomes post the exact same scores, all leaderboards will be updated.

    • If  both teams win the same number of holes, the Team with the fewest putts wins the match. If there is still a tie, the most eagles, then birdies, and then pars determines the winner. If there is still a tie, each team will receive one additional point. 

Championship and Awards

  • How are City, State, and National Champions selected?

    • The highest scoring Team and Player on each leaderboard on October 1, 2022 will be the Champions for each tournament.

  • What do tournament Champions receive?  

    • Each tournament’s highest scoring team selects a local sponsor’s junior golf organization to receive all sponsor fees/donations.

    • They also receive the player awards featured on each tournament page. Player Awards are distributed in October, 2022. 

    • The Player Champion selects the first player award and then the Team Champion’s next highest scoring players make a selection.


  • What is the process for securing a Tournament sponsorship?

    • Sponsors must pledge/donate an amount based on sales they expect to generate throughout the tournament season.

    • All Sponsors must register a team to compete in their city’s tournament. It’s a free marketing opportunity.

    • We will start accepting sponsor requests March 2022. We will select 10 sponsors per-tournament with the highest pledge amounts. They will be featured on each tournament page.

    • Our goal is to generate maximum sponsor sales and donations from March to October 2022,

    • Sponsors control their logo, video, and link on their tournament page.

    • Contact us and complete the Sponsor form.

  • What are your goals for City, State, and National sponsor pledges?

    • Our goals are City- $5,000, State-$10,000, and National Championship- $15,000 per-sponsor?  

    • It’s a 8 month marketing opportunity from March to October 2022.

    • Every sponsor must select a junior golf organization to support.

    • Sponsors complete a sponsor request and identify their pledge amount for that tournament. The pledge amount can be increased at any time. Donations are made in October 2022.

    • Their pledge amount will be posted under their logo on the tournament page.

  • How are tournament and sponsor fees collected and distributed?

    • The final pledge amount is donated directly to the junior golf program selected by tournament Champions. Champions must select one of the tournament sponsor’s junior golf programs.

  • How can sponsors use the program to generate sales?

    • Visit our Sponsors page, read this article, and follow us on social media for many programs and promotions.

    • Provide sales promotions to all players.

    • Comments, photos, and videos provide interesting content for your website and social media.

  • What are Player Awards? 

    • These are awards for all City, State, and National Champions.

    • They could be golf equipment, travel, or other products and services.

    • They will be listed on each tournament page.

Junior Golf

  • Does a junior golf program need to be a nonprofit organization.

    • Yes they must be an IRS recognized nonprofit organization.

  • How do Junior Golf programs benefit from this program?

    • It’s an 12 month fundraising campaign with donations made in October 2022.

    • Tournament Champions select an organization to receive all sponsor donations. 

    • Some golf clubs and courses will conduct tournaments and fundraising campaigns throughout the tournament period.

    • Junior Golf organizations will benefit from PROFAN SPORTS marketing throughout the tournament season. 

  • What can Junior Golf Organizations do to help?

    • Contact local golf clubs and ask them to support your organization.

    • Use your social media and other marketing efforts to get local players to participate and select your organization.

    • Ask local companies and individuals to donate dollars per-point scored by the team playing for your organization.  

    • Visit our blog and follow us on social media for additional ideas and opportunities.


  • How many players are on each team and how many matches do they play?

  • Does every player must have an established public handicap?

    • Yes, you will need a GHIN number and current handicap. 

  • How does the scoring process work?

    • Before each match players agree on competing players, handicaps and ‘strokes’ on each hole.

    • Each team receives 1 point for each hole won. After the match both teams must agree on all scores and then post those scores on their Team profile. 

    • Each Team must post the same scores or they will not be add to the leaderboards.

    • The  Team that scores the most points wins the match and an additional 2 points.

  • What if both Teams have the same number of points?

    • See Points and Posting for details.

  • What happens if the teams post different scores?

    • Each team will receive a score posting alert and they will not be awarded points on the leaderboards until scores are corrected. Once posted scores match, they cannot be changed. 

  • What is the earliest I can register a team and play the first match?

    • Registration starts March 1, 2022.

  • Can my team play multiple matches in one month?

    • Players/Teams can only post 2 matches per-month. Once it is posted it cannot be removed. You have 3 months to play 6 matches.

He was always giving someone a lesson. He was a successful business man, entrepreneur, and humanitarian.

Our goal is to accomplish one of his goals, to help children across the country benefit from this wonderful sport. The PROFAN SPORTS Golf Challenge is about golf, business, marketing, and making a difference. Register a Team. Sponsor a City, State or National Championship. Help secure other teams and sponsors in your city. It’s free, and if you win here, you are a Champion.
